2. Your account

3. Organisation profiles and verification

Your organisation profile must describe a real organisation truthfully. We may review profiles and award a verification status based on information and documents you provide. Verification means we have carried out reasonable checks at a point in time. It is not an endorsement, audit, guarantee of performance or legal or financial advice, and it may be changed or removed if information turns out to be inaccurate.

4. Matching, introductions and messages

5. Acceptable use

You must not use the Services to:

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as profile details, documents and messages ("Your Content"). You give CAMEL Africa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and process Your Content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the Services, including showing the public parts of your profile to other members. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law or in routine backups for a limited time. You confirm you have the rights needed to share Your Content and that it does not break these Terms.

7. Our intellectual property

The Services, including the CAMEL Africa and CAMEL Intel names, logos, design, software, matching methods, reports and other materials we provide, belong to CAMEL Africa or its licensors and are protected by law. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for their intended purpose under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, resell, reverse engineer or build a competing service from them. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

8. CAMEL Intel and paid services

Creating a CAMEL Africa organisation account is currently free. CAMEL Intel research, dashboards and other paid services may be offered under a separate order form, proposal or subscription terms, which will apply alongside these Terms. If there is a conflict, the separate terms apply to that service. Market intelligence we provide is for information only and is not investment, legal, tax or financial advice.

9. Third party services

The Services rely on or link to services run by others, such as Google Sign-In, hosting providers and partner websites. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Availability and changes to the Services

We work to keep the Services available and secure, but we do not promise they will be uninterrupted or error free. We may add, change or remove features, and we may carry out maintenance that temporarily limits access. Where a change materially reduces what you can do, we will try to give you reasonable notice.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time by using the account settings or emailing ceo@camelafrica.org. We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you breach these Terms, if your use creates legal or security risk, if we are required to by law, or if your organisation profile cannot be verified. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Sections 6, 7 and 12 to 16 continue to apply after termination.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that information provided by members, including profiles, impact data and verification documents, is accurate, complete or current, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member, on or off the platform.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CAMEL Africa will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, funding, revenue, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising from or related to the Services or any dealings between members. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim or one hundred United States dollars (US$100). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

14. Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate CAMEL Africa and its team against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your dealings with other members, except to the extent caused by our own wrongdoing.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally within 30 days. If it is not resolved, the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria will have jurisdiction, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring proceedings where you live.

16. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any separate terms for paid services, are the entire agreement between you and CAMEL Africa about the Services. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or through the platform before they take effect. If you keep using the Services after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
